By accessing or using the Services, you consent to the collection, use, disclosure, and transfer of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, your choice is not to access or use the Services. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Use, including its disclaimers and limitations of liability.
Application of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the information that we may collect from you or that you may provide when you access or use OnPlate's website, onplate.app, the OnPlate mobile application, and any other related OnPlate websites, mobile applications, email lists, subscriptions, and other features and communications (collectively, "Services"), and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected by: (a) us offline or through any other means; or (b) any third party, including through any website, application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or through the Services.
Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to access or use the Services. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time. Your continued access or use of the Services after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so we encourage you to review this policy whenever you use or access the Services. We will indicate any updates to this policy by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of the policy.
Children Under the Age of 16
The Services are not intended for anyone under the age of 18. Additionally, we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 16. If you are under 16, do not use or provide any information on or through the Services or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 16, please contact us at hello@onplate.app.
Information We Collect
When you interact with, access or use the Services, we may collect both personal and non-personal information, as described below. The term "personal information" is used in this Privacy Policy to refer to information that is not publicly available and that identifies you (or is capable of being used to identify you) or your household (e.g., name, email address, mailing address); sometimes in this Privacy Policy we refer to your personal information as "your information." In this Privacy Policy, the term "non-personal information" is used to reference information that cannot be associated with you or your household, or that is publicly available (e.g., de-identified or aggregated information). We may collect, use, disclose, and transfer non-personal information for any purpose.
Information that you provide to us: Examples of information you provide to us include your name, email address, payment method, and the content you create in the App — the links you import, the recipes generated from them, your library, notes, and grocery lists. This information is collected in a number of ways, including, but not limited to, when you register on or through the Services, your interactions with customer support, marketing promotions, and surveys.
Information that we collect automatically: There are some forms of information that we collect automatically, including:
- Information about your interactions with and use of the Services, including our website and mobile application.
- Details about your interactions with customer support, such as the times and dates of interactions and the details of those interactions.
- Device identifiers such as the type of device you use, the version of your browser, your operating system, and identifiers that can be used to uniquely identify your device.
- Standard logging information such as page views, referral URLs, IP addresses, connection information, browser versions, and operating system versions.
- Information collected via the use of cookies, web beacons and other technologies.
If you do not want us to collect this information, do not access or use the Services (or delete the App from your devices).
Information obtained from other sources: We may supplement the information collected through the Services with information we obtain from other sources, both online and offline. We use this data to better understand our past, current and future users and to improve the Services.
Our Use of Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, analyze, administer, enhance and personalize our Services and marketing initiatives. For example, we may use the information to:
- Provide the App's core features — importing, structuring, storing, and organizing recipes and grocery lists.
- Detect, prevent or investigate fraudulent uses of the Services.
- Manage subscriptions and provide customer support.
- Send you service- or marketing-related emails or push notifications.
- Monitor and improve usage of the Services.
We may use de-identified or aggregated non-personal information collected from your use of the Services to improve the content and functionality of the Services, and in connection with measurements, analytics, and advertising relationships with our partners. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your recipe content for advertising.
Our Disclosure of Your Information
OnPlate does not sell your information. There are, however, certain circumstances in which we may share your information with certain third parties without further notice to you, such as in the following examples:
- Service Providers: We use other third-party companies and contractors ("Service Providers") to perform services for us or to assist with marketing, research, advertising, communications, infrastructure, IT services, and the recipe-extraction features in the course of providing our Services to you. For example, OnPlate may share data with analytics and crash-reporting providers that track and report on use of the Services so that we can keep the App working and improve it.
- Promotional Offers: We may offer joint marketing promotions that, in order for you to participate, will require that we share your information with third parties. By participating in these joint promotions, you agree to our sharing of your information. Please note that we do not control the privacy practices of any third-party businesses.
- Business Transfer: We may transfer your information due to a reorganization, restructuring, merger, sale, or other transfer of OnPlate, our business or assets, provided that the receiving party agrees to respect your personal information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy.
- Social Media Services: If you choose to connect and share information from the Services to a social media network, the information you share is then subject to that social media service's privacy policy.
- Legal Requirements: OnPlate may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, or to protect the rights, property or safety of OnPlate, our customers or others.
- Others with access to your account: If you choose to share your account with other parties, they may have access to any of your personal information.
Apple processes your subscription purchases. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Your Choices
If you don't want to receive marketing emails from us, you can simply "Unsubscribe" via a link in the email. However, there are certain administrative emails from which you can't unsubscribe, such as service notifications and emails related to your financial transactions with us.
Our mobile app will prompt you to opt in to receive push notifications. If you later decide you don't want to receive push notifications, you can disable them on the devices receiving the notifications.
Right to Access Your Information
You may have access to and the ability to update certain of your personal information through a user or account area of the Services. However, if you ever have questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal information, please contact us at hello@onplate.app.
Exclusions
This Privacy Policy does not apply to any personal information collected by OnPlate other than the personal information collected through the Services. It does not apply to any unsolicited information you provide to OnPlate through the Services or any other means. All unsolicited information is deemed non-confidential and OnPlate will be free to reproduce, use, and disclose such information without limitation or attribution.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, physical and managerial measures to protect your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers behind firewalls.
The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to, on or through the Services. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk, and we are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Services. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any unauthorized access to, use of, or disclosure of your information that results from causes beyond our reasonable control, and our liability is in all cases subject to the limitations set out in our Terms of Use.
Changes to Our Privacy Policy
It is our policy to post any changes we make to our Privacy Policy on this page. The date this Privacy Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for periodically visiting this Privacy Policy to check for any changes.
Transfer of Information
Given the global nature of our society, users located outside of your country of residence may choose to use OnPlate, which may result in the transfer of information internationally. By using the Services you acknowledge and agree to the transfer of your information to any country where we or our Service Providers have facilities. You understand that countries we may transfer information to may not have as comprehensive a level of data protection as your country, although your personal information will continue to be protected in accordance with the standards described in this Privacy Policy.
Links to Other Sites
The Services may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
- The right to understand your data: you may request that we disclose the personal information we collect, use, or disclose.
- The right to request deletion: you may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you.
